Background story: • Shaia acquired the two joined earrings before Trase (older sister) died, and when Jhay gave her a pair of handcrafted bronze earrings as a parting gift. They, along with her own earrings, come in pairs, but due to her belief (if I lost one of the pairs, then it'd be useless, so just display one of them and that's what makes it look cooler), she only displays one of each pair.
• When she's around 7 years old, right after Trase's death, she left her home country Theraxia to find her sister's murderer and sought for revenge, which were considered violations in Theraxia. When she left, she accidentally fell into one of the Bari'n Lai Tribe's traps. The town chief Zuri, realizing that she's a harmless young child, freed her but when they found out that she was carrying a sword (Sarem, younger version of Samera), they had to take her in for interrogation.

•During the investigation, she was introduced to the chief's 10-year-old son, Jhay. She was found to be an orphan, and Zuri's younger sister offered Shaia to be her adopted daughter, making Jhay and her (illegitimate) cousins. During her stay there, she was trained to be a warrior with Jhay as her teacher.

•When she reached the age of 10, she had to undergo rituals to be an official native of the tribe. Being unfamiliar of the risks, she was unaware that she was being tricked into receiving the Cursed Mark(placed on her neck, covered by the choker), which enables the user to summon the cursed beast that could wipe out the entire tribe. They believed that she owes them so much that she feels so much in debt that's why she won't attack the tribe.

•Unfortunately, the beast was summoned and 3/4 of the tribe was destroyed. They blamed Shaia for this, not knowing that she's not the reason for the beast's appearance. Jhay forced her to flee before she gets punished, and with that, he gave her parting gifts--a pair of handcrafted bronze earrings and her very first kiss.

•When she fled, she encountered the Falcon Squad, a ninja and assassin sector in the Black Clan and White Clan. In that encounter, she lost her right eye to Tyrell, the insect summoner, but she still managed to defeat them all despite that. Unknown to her, there was another member who rarely goes into fight-- Leryx. He knocked her out soon and was taken to their headquarters.
•When she was taken to the clan's head, Ebony, she was offered a position in Falcon Squad after realizing her skills. She refused the offer due to Tyrell being a member of the squad. When she was told that she could take the revenge she's been wanting, she decided to stay for a while.
•One day, she was sent to the hospital when an eye donor was available.
•Leryx had to leave for a while.
•Ebony makes another offer. She accepted the offer when she was given the hidden weapon; a paintbrush. She became a skilled assassin for a few years.

•She quitted her job as an assassin when she was tasked to assassinate the next tribe chief of Bari'n Lai, Jhay. She was 13 years old at that time.

•When she managed to escape Ebony and her clan, she was in the scene when Sonarra's necklace was stolen. She caught the snatcher and retrieved the necklace. From that moment on, she was accepted in Sonarra's clan, Clan Genesis. She's in a disguise back then.
